Lanark Writers is a small group who come together once a month to share a mutual enjoyment of writing.  To allow all our members the chance to share knowledge and discuss ideas we limit our numbers to ten.

We meet in the Lanark Library at 1:45pm to 2:45pm  on the second Wednesday of the month.

Fostering a relaxed, social environment, we enjoy a cuppa while listening to, and discussing, our writing. Although, there is never any pressure to share work, we share our knowledge and provide motivation, inspiration, and positive feedback in a non-critical, supportive environment.

During sessions, various prompts and activities are used to inspire us.  For example, we might have an interesting object on display which we all write a few lines about before sharing (no pressure to share).  It can be interesting to find the different routes people’s minds take when writing about that one object.

We welcome all levels, the only criteria is that you love to write.
